How To Automatically Or Manually Install WordPress Plugin

Every wordpress blogger knew there are various ways of installing wordpress plugin, either through the plugin directory in your wordpress dashboard, through FTP Client, or through c-panel, but some doesn’t know this as well.

But believe me if you find a plugin online (not on plugin page in your wp dashboard) the name written there might be different from the name written for it in the plugin directory page and some plugin doesn’t work when you install them automatically via your wordpress dashboard, like carringtton wordpress plugin which was giving a security warning that it has been update for the past 3years ago that you should install at your own risk. That kind of plugin might not work and might keep displaying the security warning throughout your dashboard. but the best way to install this kind of plugin is manually which the two steps will be vividly explained bellow. read on.

How To Install WordPress Plugin Automatically

This is the most simple part you might love to use.

1. login to your wordpress Dashboard > Plugin > Add New

2. in the next page, type the plugin name and click on search.

3. Then click on install now.

4. Then the last page will display plugin installed successfully, now click on activate now. and it should start taking effect immediately.

How To Install WordPress Plugin Manually

In this step there are Two(2) ways of doing it manually and it will be explained bellow.

Step 1: Using your cpanel
1. Download the plugin you wanted to install

2. login tour hosting cpanel and locate the directory bellow.

…/wp-content/plugins

3. upload the zip file of the plugin there and extract it there.

4. now login to your wp dashboard and navigate to plugin page and activate the uploaded plugin.

thats all.

Step 2: Using your wp dashboard
1. login to your wp ddahsboard after you might have downloaded the plugin tou wanted to install.

2. click on Plugin > Add New

3. click on Upload

4. Select the zipped plugin and upload.

5. Activate after being uploaded.
