Ever since i have been on wordpress, mobilepress plugin has been one of the plugin i cant do without because it gives my blog a great look on mobile, while i wasn’t thinking of any update from the author and that makes me fully customize the theme to my own taste but not too long the author update the MobilePress plugin and that bastardize everything. you know what i hate most in the new update? even if you have the backup of your previous customized mobilepress theme, it wouldn’t work because the functions have been redefined, but in other words, for you to use this updated version you need to use a theme that works in handy with the new plugin structure.

With the updated version many users have found this updated version design so disgusting and could not even revert back to the old one. but don’t worry i made a new customized design for you with great features you might not find in other theme…. Without wasting our time, this is how the new design looks like.

Download SkyPress_MobilePress_Theme.zip
you need to install mobilepress plugin itself to make this theme work.
How to Install the Theme
- Log in to your cPanel file manager
- Navigate to …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mobilepress/themes/
- Upload the SkyPress_MobilePress_Theme.zip
- Right-click on the zip file and extract the content
- Now log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Mobilepress > Themes. Activate this new theme from there.
- Check your site now, you should see the new theme activated.
Customizing the New Mobilepress Theme
Change Logo: go to …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mobilepress/themes/skypress and upload your logo.png file. Note that your new logo must be named logo.png
Subscription box: this is ready bellow post, in the same directory above open single.php and search for FeedburnerID and replace it all with your Feedburner username and save.
Facebook comment: before you proceed read the post bellow to learn how to create facebook app for your website (read it to the very last step where you will copy out your AppID) or if you already have an app for your blog skip it and just copy the appID.

Now to make the facebook comment works properly, go to …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mobilepress/themes/skypress and open header.php and search for YourAppID then replace the text with the ID you copied earlier and save.
Change categories at the header: go to …/public_html/wp-content/plugins/mobilepress/themes/skypress and open header.php then scroll down to the very last page. there are something like this <a href="#">Category 1</a> they are many there, just change the hash(#) to the category URL and change the i.e Category 1 to the category name, edit others too like that.
Note: You might need to edit some others too like Home, Fan page and twitter link bellow the logo, just scroll upward in three to four lines and edit..
Page List at the footer: inside the same directory you are, just open footer.php there you’ll see what to edit.
Note: Be kind enough to leave the footer credit link to this theme for others who are interested and to show appreciation.
ADS ready: for adsense users just navigate to your wordpress installation folder and create new file, name it adsense.php and right click on it > edit and paste your adsense mobile ad/addynamo code then save. it will start showing immediately.
Facebook fan box: This allow your visitors like your page, in that same footer.php just search for okaztletips and change it to your facebook page username then save.
Pagination: Just install WP-PageNavi plugin and activate, that’s all.
Favicon: navigate to /wp-content/plugins/mobilepress/themes/skypress/img and just upload your 16×16 icon there. note that the name must be favicon.ico

Thanks for this great post, I want to ask concerning the adsense, is there any different in adsense code and adsense mobile code, I seems to be at loss here.
Is it once the adsense file has been created in the folder of mobile press, that we will just paste the adsense code in it like that?

The difference isn’t that much, its just that the mobile code will only show on mobile/smart phones
I have successfully installed this theme to blog but i am facing one problem.
I am using two domains on my blog (shamsuddeen.com and shamsuddeen.tk) and now if i view my blog on http://www.shamsuddeen.tk the blog will display your skypress but if i view it on http://www.shamsuddeen.com the blog will display the default mobilepress themes. Please how can i solve this problem?
